What’s the difference between Standard and Premium snowboard rentals? Which should I choose?
Standard snowboard and ski sets are suitable for beginners to intermediate riders. These All-Mountain models offer easy handling and high stability—ideal for casual snow outings, learning basic skills, or guests without specific gear preferences.

Standard Gear Brands Include:

▪ Ski：Volkl、Rossignol、Dynastar、Head、K2 etc.

Premium snowboards (snowboard only) are designed for experienced riders who value board response, flex, and style. These models offer higher performance—perfect for freestyle, park, and carving skills.

Premium Board Selection Includes:

▪ Spread - LTV / LTV-CV / LTA-F / RD
▪ Capita - Birds of a Feather / Defenders of Awesome
Do you offer Step-On bindings for rental?
We currently do not offer Step-On bindings.
However, we now provide the latest Bataleon BLASTER AW FASE Bindings—a rapid-entry system similar to Step-On, combining easy access with the adjustable feel of traditional dual-strap bindings.

Bataleon BLASTER AW FASE Bindings are exclusively available for Premium snowboard rentals. Limited quantity—allocated on a first-come, first-served basis in-store.
What sizes do you offer for boards and boots?
We provide a wide range of sizes suitable for both children and adults:
▪ Ski Length: 76 cm (kids) to 190 cm (adults)
▪ Snowboard Length: 90 cm (kids) to 163 cm (adults)
▪ Ski Boots: 16 cm (kids) to 30.5 cm (adults)
▪ SSnowboard Boots: 16 cm (kids) to 32 cm (adults)
Can I upgrade or downgrade my rental plan after booking?
Yes. You may request to change your rental plan when you arrive at the shop—whether upgrading from Standard to Premium, or downgrading from Premium to Standard. All changes are subject to gear availability on the day.
If you have specific gear preferences, please note them during booking—we’ll do our best to accommodate.
What is the Royale VIP Rental Plan? Which plan should I choose?
The Royale VIP Plan offers a luxury snow rental experience designed for convenience, comfort, and priority service.
It includes:
▪ Priority Equipment Pickup – Skip the queue with personal staff assistance upon arrival
▪ FREE Private Daily Transfers – Round-trip transport between your hotel and ski resort within a flexible schedule (08:00–18:00), no shared rides
▪ Full Hakuba Coverage – Access to all 8 major Hakuba ski resorts, including the furthest locations like Cortina and Norikura

Recommended for:
▪ Guests who prefer direct transfers from hotel to ski resort without ride-sharing
▪ Groups of up to 7 people (additional vehicle required for 8+)—great for families or private groups
▪ Riders looking to maximize ski time with minimal waiting
▪ Those seeking a smooth, private, and elevated snow experience

Can I have the equipment delivered to my accommodation or ski resort instead of visiting the shop?
Yes. If you’re unable to visit the shop, simply select “Gear Delivery to Hotel or Ski Resort” on the reservation form and provide accurate rental details. Then contact our customer service via WhatsApp (+852 54389997) at least three days before your rental date to confirm your order, payment, and delivery location and time. The entire rental process can be completed without visiting the shop.

Delivery Service Options:
▪ Afternoon Delivery on the Day Before Rental: Equipment will be delivered to the dry room of your accommodation by 19:00. Delivery time cannot be specified. A photo will be sent to confirm successful delivery.
▪ Same-Day Delivery on Rental Date: You can specify a preferred delivery time. Equipment will be delivered to your hotel or ski resort—we will do our best to accommodate your request.
▪ Gear Exchanges: If size adjustments are needed, you may visit our store or contact us to arrange delivery after 10:00 the next morning to your hotel or ski resort.

If I rent equipment in the afternoon, is the rental fee charged for the same day? Do you offer half-day rentals?
We do not offer half-day rentals. If you visit our shop after 14:00, your rental will be charged starting from the next day. No fee will be charged for the afternoon.
Please refer to our business hours and choose the most suitable visit time based on your itinerary. Indicate your rental start time on the reservation form so we can prepare your gear in advance.
What should I do if my rental equipment is damaged or lost?
Please contact our customer service via WhatsApp (+852 54389997) immediately.
If the gear is irreparably damaged or lost and cannot be retrieved, compensation equal to 14 days’ rental fee will be required. We will provide an official receipt for insurance claims.
We’ll also arrange replacement equipment to ensure your snow holiday continues smoothly without disruption.
Can I rent only apparel such as jackets or pants? Does the snowboard rental set include a helmet?
Yes. Helmets, jackets, pants, and other accessories can be rented separately. Please refer to our price list for details.

Bindings and poles are not available for separate rental

If you need a helmet or other gear (jacket, pants, accessories), feel free to customize your rental set and reserve accordingly.
Can I change my gear during the rental period? Can I switch between snowboard and ski?
Yes. If your boots or board length aren’t suitable, we’ll replace them free of charge. You may also switch between snowboard and ski once for free during your rental period. If you wish to switch again, a fee of JPY 2,000 per change will apply.

Exchange Options:
▪ Visit the shop in person; or
▪ Contact our customer service via WhatsApp (+852 54389997) and we’ll arrange delivery to your hotel or ski resort after 10:00.

Does the rental fee include insurance?
Rental fees do not include insurance. Customers are advised to purchase personal travel or accident insurance that covers ski activities and rental equipment damage/loss.
Prior to renting, please read and agree to our Rental Terms & Conditions. In the event of damage or loss, we’ll issue a compensation receipt to assist with insurance claims.

How do I book the free transfer service? What are the arrangements and coverage?
Free transfer service is available on the first rental day or the day before. Guests who reserve their snow equipment rental through Sunshine Hakuba’s official website can opt in by selecting “Transfer Service Required” on the reservation form and contact customer support via WhatsApp (+852 54389997) at least three days before the rental date to confirm pickup location and time.

Transfer Options:
▪ First Rental Day (08:00–12:00): Pickup from your accommodation or designated station → to rental shop → then drop-off at the ski resort or your accommodation
▪ Afternoon Prior to Rental Day (14:00–17:30): Pickup from your accommodation or designated station → to rental shop → then drop-off at your accommodation

Can my non-renting companion join the transfer?
Sorry, transfer service is only available for guests renting gear from Sunshine Hakuba. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide transport for non-renting companions.

We operate two convenient stores in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture:

How can I get to Hakuba?
You can choose from the following transport options:
▪ Self-Drive
Take the JR line to Nagano Station, then rent a vehicle with snow tires and 4WD (reservation required). Driving from Nagano to Hakuba takes approx. 1 hour.

▪ JR / Shinkansen (Fastest Option) Train Info
Limited Express Azusa: Direct from Shinjuku to Hakuba (no transfer), approx. 3 hours 42 minutes
Shinjuku → Hakuba: 08:00–11:42
Hakuba → Shinjuku: 15:16–19:06
Shinkansen to Nagano Station → Bus to Hakuba Bus Info
At Nagano Station, take bus from East Exit, Stop #26 to Hakuba

Upon arrival in Hakuba, we recommend visiting your accommodation first to drop off luggage. Please note: our shops do not offer luggage storage services.

Do I need to return my gear every day? Can I leave the equipment at my accommodation to be collected?
No, daily returns are not required. You only need to complete the return by 18:00 on the final day of your rental period.

Return options include:
▪ Return in person at the shop
▪ Leave the gear in your accommodation’s dry room and send a clear photo showing all equipment via WhatsApp to customer service (+852 5438 9997). We will arrange pickup.
▪ Return at the ski resort: Please contact customer service in advance to arrange hand-off at the resort exit, and our staff will collect the equipment there.
Will I be charged extra if I return the gear after 18:00?
Yes. All equipment must be returned by 18:00 on the last rental day.
If gear is returned late due to night skiing or any reason after 18:00, it will be considered an extra rental day, and additional fees will apply.

Can I rent goggles and gloves?
For hygiene reasons, Hiyori does not offer rental of goggles, gloves, or personal protective equipment (with the exception of wrist guards).

Guests are welcome to purchase accessories at the store, where we offer a wide range of gear including: ▪ Gloves ▪ Goggles ▪ Ski socks ▪ Hip protectors ▪ Knee pads

Feel free to visit us and try on gear before purchasing—our staff is happy to assist!
Are discounted ski lift tickets available for purchase?
We currently do not sell ski lift or gondola tickets.
If you need lift passes, we recommend purchasing directly from the ski resort’s official website or via major Japanese travel platforms.

Which payment methods can I use?
Payment options vary depending on the selected service:
▪ Ski equipment rental / In-store shopping: Accepts Japanese yen cash or credit card
▪ Ski lesson reservations (must be paid to confirm booking): Accepts credit card (4% service fee applies), bank transfer, or FPS (for Hong Kong customers only)
▪ Online retail store purchases: Accepts credit card
How can I cancel a ski equipment rental reservation?
▪ Cancellations made 7 days before the rental date are eligible for free cancellation.
▪ Cancellations made within 7 days, or no-shows on the day, will incur a fee equal to the first day’s rental charge.
▪ If you need to change or cancel your reservation, it’s best to contact customer service via WhatsApp (+852 5438 9997) as early as possible to assist with arrangements.
Can I cancel or reschedule a ski lesson booking?
Once your lesson reservation is confirmed, cancellations, refunds, transfers, or changes are not accepted under any circumstances. All paid fees are non-refundable. ➜ For full details, please refer to the Instructor Booking Terms.
