Ski or Snowboard Instructor Booking Terms & Conditions
Course Guidelines
-
All instructors hold internationally recognized certifications such as PSAI/AASI (USA), CASI/CSIA (Canada), or SBINZ/NZSIA (New Zealand).
-
Lessons are available in Cantonese or Mandarin.
-
Standard lesson locations are Hakuba Goryu & Hakuba 47. Lessons at other Hakuba Valley resorts may incur additional fees (charged per day).
-
Requests for specific instructors are subject to additional fees starting from ¥10,000 per day, depending on their qualifications and rank.
-
If no instructor is specified, we will assign the most suitable coach. Instructor changes may occur without prior notice, and participants may not object.
-
Courses are divided by type (ski / snowboard) and by level (beginner / intermediate / advanced). Please indicate your level during registration.
-
Instruction is available as private 1-on-1 lessons or group classes (maximum 6 participants).
-
Children under 12 may join group lessons of up to 3, and we strongly encourage a parent to accompany them during the session to assist and respond to any sudden situations.
-
Minimum age to participate is 3 years old. Children aged 3–6 are recommended to enroll in private 1-on-1 lessons for safety and effectiveness.
-
All participants must purchase their own travel insurance and provide proof of coverage before the lesson begins.
Cancellation & Change Policy
-
Once a booking is confirmed, it cannot be canceled, modified, refunded, or transferred. All fees paid are non-refundable.
-
For rescheduling or changes due to unforeseen circumstances, requests must be submitted at least 14 days in advance, and a handling fee of ¥15,000 will apply.
-
In cases of cancellation due to special circumstances, a refund may be requested via written or email application. If approved, refunds will be processed within 2 weeks and subject to the following conditions (after deducting handling fees):

-
Cancellations 30 days or more in advance: 25% of fees will be deducted

Deducted fees cannot be transferred to other services or saved for future bookings.
Disclaimer
-
In the event of ski resort closure or lesson cancellation due to weather conditions or safety concerns, a full tuition refund will be issued after deducting ¥15,000 handling fee. No additional compensation will be provided.
-
If a participant exhibits uncooperative behavior (e.g., disrespecting the instructor, leaving without notice, violating safety rules, refusing instruction), the instructor may immediately terminate the lesson. In such cases, no refund or compensation will be offered.
-
We reserve the right to suspend, cancel, or modify lessons and related terms at any time, without prior notice or compensation.
-
Participants acknowledge the inherent risks of skiing and snowboarding, including physical and emotional injury, death, and property loss or damage. By booking, participants waive all claims, legal actions, and demands toward Sunshine Hakuba LLC.

We are not liable for delays or cancellations caused by force majeure events, including but not limited to fire, flood, earthquake, accident, riot, war, government action, embargo, strikes, labor disputes, or equipment failure.
-
We reserve final interpretation and decision-making rights. All disputes will be resolved based on our final decision, and participants may not object.
